Asthma and breathing difficulties can make the breath feel restricted, unpredictable, or easily affected by stress, weather, activity, or environmental exposure. Ayurveda looks at respiratory imbalance through the channels of the body, especially how digestion, elimination, metabolism, and accumulated impurities may influence the chest and lung area.
The Raj’s approach to asthma focuses on supporting clearer respiratory channels and reducing the internal burden that may contribute to airway sensitivity. Your program may emphasize gentle purification, settled breathing practices, meals that support easier digestion, and daily routines that help reduce stress and support steadier respiratory function.
Panchakarma supports the respiratory system by helping clear accumulated impurities from the channels that carry nourishment and waste through the body. As the internal environment becomes lighter and less burdened, the chest and breath may feel more supported, and the body is better able to maintain steadier respiratory balance.
True healing begins when the body is given the space and guidance to reset. At The Raj, our personalized Panchakarma programs work at the root cause, helping restore balance, vitality, and lasting wellbeing through Ayurveda’s time-honored healing practices.
“My Asthma Has Completely Disappeared”
I came to The Raj suffering from chronic asthma along with digestive problems, migraines, thyroid dysfunction, sinus problems, and chronic back pain.
I had been sent from one specialist to another with little or no success. At the time, I was taking 12 to 14 pills a day, including asthma medication, pain medication, migraine medicine, muscle relaxants, thyroid hormones, and sleeping pills.
Four months after my week-long stay at The Raj, my asthma had completely disappeared. I was down to two medications and felt energetic and happy.
“I couldn’t be a happier client. I’ve never felt so well in my life.”
The Raj turned my life around and put me back in charge of my wellness.

“Both Conditions I Sought Treatment for Have Greatly Improved”
I came to The Raj for a three-week stay seeking help with asthma and anxiety.
From the beginning, the experience felt deeply supportive. The staff was attentive, the food was exceptional, and the treatments were intense but handled with great care.
Two weeks after my stay, I reported some relief from asthma, more energy, and much less anxiety.
By my later update, both conditions I had come to address had greatly improved.
“I am planning my next stay!”

Off Steroids and Asthma Medication After Long-Term Follow-Up
A 61-year-old female physician and medical director of a large Midwestern hospital came to The Raj with a long history of steroid-dependent asthma.
She had been unable to reduce her steroid dosage without worsening symptoms. Over time, steroid side effects had also contributed to severe erosion of one hip, eventually requiring a wheelchair and surgical repair.
She underwent an in-residence Panchakarma treatment program, and her asthma symptoms began to improve immediately.
Over the next two months, under medical supervision, she gradually reduced and eventually discontinued her steroids and other asthma medications without worsening symptoms.
She was followed regularly for the next nine years. During that time, she experienced only one brief episode of asthma symptoms and otherwise remained free of asthma symptoms without medication.
