Weight loss and weight management are highly individual. Ayurveda looks at weight through body type, digestion, metabolism, appetite, daily routine, stress, sleep, emotional patterns, and the way different foods affect the body and mind. Whether the concern is weight gain, difficulty losing weight, or feeling out of balance in the body, the goal is to understand the deeper factors influencing metabolism and nourishment.
The Raj’s approach to weight loss and weight management focuses on helping each guest understand their Ayurvedic body type and the habits that support or disturb natural balance. Your program may emphasize meals suited to your constitution, routines that support steadier appetite and energy, therapies that help reduce accumulated heaviness, and guidance to improve digestion and metabolism without extreme restriction.
Panchakarma supports weight management by helping the body clear accumulated impurities that may burden metabolism and hormonal balance. As digestion becomes stronger and daily rhythms become more consistent, the body is better supported in moving toward healthy weight loss, improved vitality, and a more balanced relationship with food.
True healing begins when the body is given the space and guidance to reset. At The Raj, our personalized Panchakarma programs work at the root cause, helping restore balance, vitality, and lasting wellbeing through Ayurveda’s time-honored healing practices.
60 Pounds Lost in Seven Months
Over an 18-year period, Dr. Michael Borger’s weight increased from 165 pounds to 298 pounds. Eventually, the physician’s growing weight problem took a serious toll on his health, and he was diagnosed with Type II diabetes and extremely high blood sugar.
Dr. Borger booked a three-day evaluation and treatment program at The Raj. “I found the facility to be the finest that I could imagine. I was especially impressed with the doctors.”
Seven months later, he reported losing 60 pounds and said, “I can’t remember the last time I looked or felt so good.”
He also reported no longer taking the diabetes medication prescribed at diagnosis and having normal laboratory studies, including short- and long-term measures of blood sugar.
“The help that I received at The Raj made it possible for me to regain my health. For this I will always be grateful.”

“My Health Did an About Face”
After caring for my aging father and burning out, I came to The Raj for a three-week stay. I felt so restored that I didn’t want to leave.
I slept like a baby every night, enjoyed wonderful organic meals, and felt my health do an “about face.”
After three weeks, I felt renewed and deeply cared for throughout the experience.
“I highly recommend this facility.”

The Raj’s Panchakarma programs are designed to support overall balance, healthy digestion, metabolism, and lifestyle habits through personalized therapies, nutrition, and wellness recommendations.
Different dosha imbalances may influence metabolism, appetite, energy levels, cravings, and the way the body stores or utilizes energy. Understanding these imbalances helps guide a personalized approach to wellness.
Ayurveda considers digestion the foundation of health. Healthy digestion supports metabolism, nutrient absorption, energy production, and overall balance throughout the body.
Ayurveda recognizes that weight management is influenced by many factors, including digestion, sleep, stress, activity levels, nutrition, and emotional well-being. Addressing all of these factors helps support lasting results.
Ayurveda focuses on reducing ama, or accumulated impurities, while supporting healthy digestion and metabolism. The goal is to restore balance rather than rely on extreme diets or quick fixes.
According to Ayurveda, weight management is influenced by more than calorie intake alone. Digestion, metabolism, hormonal balance, stress, sleep quality, and dosha imbalances may all play a role.
Cravings may be influenced by dosha imbalances, digestion, stress, daily habits, and nutritional needs. Ayurveda seeks to understand and address the underlying causes of recurring cravings.
